I know this is probably a very dumb question, but if I were to get this pack onto my minecraft on a series console (series s in specific, but i also have a series x), would I be able to enable rtx or is this only for pc?
I doubt images would matter here, it's just a compatibility pack, so it'll probably look like whatever RTX pack you're trying to use (and I'm guessing that's why there's no images, it just depends on what pack you use in conjunction with this)
It's ray tracing, a lighting technique that accurately simulates rays of light and the way they interact with objects in real-time. In most games like Skyrim for example, lighting is "baked" so it's static and doesn't change suddenly if the environment changes, or if something is no longer viewable on screen.
Ray tracing is realistic, so in Minecraft it means that when you look down, reflections of trees on water don't disappear, red stained glass will make sunlight turn red and color the room, etc.
Basically imagine how a painting has light/shadows that look real but never change because Bob Ross didn't expect the trees to move, and RTX allows for lighting that looks real and reacts realistically. It's very graphically intensive though, until recently it was only really available for PC gamers.
In Minecraft I like to use RTX and redstone to make color changing Christmas lights, makes my world look like a disco lol
