The Grimdark Battlepack (formerly "Kal's Arms & Armor") is a modern adaptation of the traditional Minecraft textures. I've drawn inspiration from other dark fantasy worlds to provide textures with greater detail that will be more fitting in your medieval, fantasy, and steampunk Minecraft worlds.  What originally began as just an armor and weapons pack has been expanded to include decorative blocks, sun and moon textures, a custom skybox, and in the most recent update, custom colormaps for certain biomes to provide spring and autumn vibes. These additions still belong to the more decorative side of Minecraft, allowing you to pair this pack with a block pack of your choosing or just stick with the vanilla block textures for building.

In my recent updates I've also added my variant armor textures as subpacks, now with a single download you can customize your look by choosing between Light, Medium, Heavy, Royal and Hidden armor looks.

I've also created a companion behavior pack that adds support for some of my custom swords and tools. You can now craft Katanas, Daggers, Cutlasses, Hatchets, Mallets, Pitchforks & Sickles in addition to the default tools to further customize your look in Minecraft.

**You must enable Holiday Creator Features in order for the Behavior Pack to work.

Uploaded a new version of the resource pack that includes the following additions:

  1. Added a new variant that hides player armor without removing 3D Skin elements.
  2. Tweaked existing Royal, Light & Medium (Default) armor variants to show 3D hair and face items.
  3. Added support for 24 more custom item types to the RP & BP.

IT'S SO GOOD! It actually brought tears to me eyes- I've never seen combat counterparts look so pretty- I've seen Minecraft the WRONG way. Cheers m8

So, I think the newest update broke the helmets? My hair all of a sudden goes missing when I put em on. Ahh well, it was such a nice addiction since default armors kinda look late most of the time. Was fun while it lasted.

Not downloaded yet but I saw a Lyndsay vid on it (100 days as an assassin) and I like it. I thought the mod was java exclusive so thanks

when I download and click on the button it wont open minecraft and i dont know why

i wish theres a separate pack for the armor and weapons i cant use my dragonborn mash up texture with this on.

Edit: I noticed someone mentioned planetminecraft and looked it up and found separate packs

I actually tried to add those other packs as alternate downloads here but it didn't work. MCPEDL is quite finicky in comparison to the other resource pack sites. But next update I'll try again!

Maybe for 3.0? I'm pretty sure I'd need to turn each individual piece into a new unique item and then give them all unique recipes to make this work on Bedrock. I think I know how to do it, but I'd need to quit my day job to have enough time.

You should be able to use any compression/archive program to open the .mcpack. They are afterall just renamed .zips.

This was one of my favorite resource packs when i saw it on planet Minecraft!

Thank you! I got a request to post it here way back in the day, so I try and keep it updated here as well but the process isn't quite as user-friendly as Planet MC so it's slightly less frequent.

Hello creator can you make separate addon that's only has the armor texture and also the sword and tools.. Really cool for pvp texturepack it's look like you're in medieval or Fantasyland

This is easily one of the best Armour packs! Thanks for your wonderful work and all your efforts!
The only problem I found Is that there are 2 moons at night (the actual moon and the SkyBOX one)
I might ask for a version without the custom sky/sun/moon only on the next update? (I know how to manually remove anyways so it isnt important)

Aaalso, I LOVE your samurai armor pack. I may ask/suggest for a knight plate armor pack if you really like that theme as well, and have the time for it.

The Skybox one is actually meant to be an exo-planet, originally inspired by some of the Destiny skyboxes. It sounds like it didn't translate super well to Bedrock though as you are not the first to make this request. I'm going to try and figure something out for the next pack so it's an optional thing (and may take a stab at improving the skybox in general).

I'm also very keen on a more traditional plate armor pack - my skills just weren't up to the challenge when I created the 'heavy' armor set. It's definitely on the list for the future.

I can't believe I didn't read your reply before.
Now that you mention it, I love the skybox, you did pretty well recreating the destiny feel
To this day I've been swapping between this and the samurai pack
I even made a slight edit (just changing the colors) so I have an amethyst/copper variant for those mods :D
