Realistic Medieval Town [Creation]

This town has been built with an idea to make it as realistic and accurate as possible. The fact that it's based on reality adds so much fun to exploring it as you can imagine your own ancestors living in towns like it. This is another proof that playing Minecraft can actually help educate yourself. There is a story related to the town explaining the history of different buildings and the year it is currently set in.

Background

The year is somewhere around 1360 (AD) and it's estimated that the first houses was built a few hundreds years back. Some things to indicate this is an old Saxon church and a Norman castle which both still exist but is no longer the center of attention. The main attraction in the town is an enormous Gothic cathedral which stretches far higher than any other building and can be spotted from miles away. It's a medieval port town and several ships and boats can be found in the harbours.
