Sorry, but this is crap. It doesn't actually change the UI permanently. In fact it will change back to normal after joining a world and leaving. It needs to be made into a resource pack so it stays on.

this addon sucks the old UI only works for main menu it doesn't change the world settings

Because it isn't a resource pack it's a behavior pack.

The instructions are kinda bad and this doesnt even work once you go back to the main title screen or if you join and leave a world it will just be gone and you have to do the process again. For those who dont know you just make a world with the bp activated and beta APIs on, then accept the popup

Are you sure you downloaded the pack? Because a menu would have opened on join prompting you to go back to the old ui. Also make sure you enable beta apis.

How do I activate it? If it's a resource pack instead of a texture pack, you can only activate it in a world, not in global resources.
