⚠️ Update Warning

If you are updating from v1.1, please create a new world. Pets that exist in your current world may disappear or behave incorrectly due to changes in internal entity identifiers. Your builds and items will not be affected — only existing pets.

🐾 Unique ability per pet

Every BlockyPet now has an exclusive combat ability:

Changes from v1.1:

  • 🔪 Cutter Pet — had incorrect biomes (Caves, Ice, Desert for a surface pet). Fixed to Plains, Forest, Taiga
  • Glow Pet — had both surface and underground at the same time (invalid). Fixed to Underground only across all Nether biomes
  • 🪚 Craftsman Pet — Flower Forest was duplicated, removed

🐛 General fixes

  • Pets no longer attack each other
  • BlockyPets no longer attack other tamed pets
  • Fixed a bug where pet names appeared as "Unknown" in the world
  • Beta APIs experiment is no longer required
  • Improved compatibility with other addons using proper namespaces (teamutskiin:)
  • Pets no longer despawn in large worlds
  • Fixed invalid JSON in Cutter Pet spawn rules

⚙️ Technical changes

  • All entity identifiers migrated to teamutskiin: to avoid conflicts
  • Removed player.json which caused incompatibilities with other addons
  • Added density limit to all spawn rules
  • Script module removed — no experiments or Beta APIs required

Does each block have a unique ability or some sort? Well anyhow... Cute add-on.

A suggestion:
Could you make it so that when the pet died, it would get into "stationary" state. It could still die if hit, but in the stationary state, no mobs would attempt to attack it and it's immune from fall and fire damage but maybe still affected by explosions. Just like how actual blocks would act.

That's an excellent idea: giving it a similar resistance to the block it's based on!

Could you make the add-on compatible with others and eliminate the need to activate experiments?

Hi! Thanks for the suggestion; we're already working on it for the next update, so it won't be necessary to activate the beta APIs and it will be compatible with other add-ons.
