The infected player evolution chain has been reworked:

Old:

Infected Player → Parasite Reborn

New:

Infected Player → Parasite Organs → Parasite Reborn → Parasite Reborn Complete

Capabilities

Infected players now transform into Parasite Organs.

Parasite Organs evolve into Parasite Reborn.

Parasite Reborn can further evolve into Parasite Reborn Complete.

Performance

Reduced Phase 1 spawn rates for better gameplay balance and improved world performance.

I was testing the mod in a survival world and on day 4 only around 4-6 mobs were infected. Also for some reason the mutan larvae spawn at night instead of regular larvae. Also infecteds and both larvae types have little health and damage making infecting really hard to do, and zombies don’t seem to get infected. I would make all mobs in this mod except heavy hitters can infect mobs. Also said heavy hitting mobs should disable shields making fighting them more fun instead of cheesing everything. Final thing, the Flayer has no animation and isn’t hit mobs because it can’t get close enough.
Still a good mod, just way too easy to control.

I did some testing with the new mobs and I think the recent changes are balanced, but during testing I noticed that mutated larvae and every infected can spawn naturally after day 2 starts. Making gathering resources almost impossible when an infected enderman shows up and kills you.

I would make it so that larvae spawn naturally and get enough kills to mutate, making early game survivable and late game more dangerous as larvae keep infecting mobs in caves and night, and mobs like slammers, tanks, etc. evolving from when a certain mob gets enough kills. But you don’t have to do what I say, I’m just giving ideas.

Just to clarify though, slammers and tanks don’t naturally spawn yet. The system currently works through phases, and Phase 1 only starts after around 20 parasites exist.

Since parasite larvae only spawn at night and still need to evolve into mutated larvae before they can infect other mobs, reaching Phase 1 by Day 2 should actually take quite a while in normal gameplay.

So if stronger infected mobs appeared that early, it might have been caused by another add-on, commands, altered settings, or a bug during testing.

I still appreciate the balancing ideas though.

I like the mod so far, but I have some criticisms, all mobs except for Stalker, Enderman, Larva, and Mutan Larva need more health and/or damage. Also the Creeper does not attack mobs.
