Custom Hotbar Hover Text

Since 1.16, there is a new black background to the item text when you scroll through the Hotbar. This pack not only allows you to remove that background, but it also adds nine other Hotbar text backgrounds to choose from!

About

Since 1.16, there is a new black background to the item text when you scroll through the Hotbar. This pack not only allows you to remove that background, but it also adds nine other Hotbar text backgrounds to choose from!

Styles

There are a total of 10 styles to choose from (one of which is the default). They are shown in the image below:

  1. Default - The normal background introduced in 1.16
  2. Opaque - A fully opaque black background based on the default
  3. Purple - A fully opaque purple background based on the inventory hover tooltip
  4. Square - A rectangular background similar to that on the Java Edition (if enabled)
  5. Rounded - A slightly more rounded version of Default
  6. Border - Similar to default, but with a darkened border
  7. Hotbar - A background designed to look similar to the Hotbar itself
  8. Subtle - A slightly more transparent version of the default background
  9. Invisible - Both text and background are invisible. Scrolling through items will not show a popup
  10. Legacy - Removes the default background entirely and adds a shadow to text, to look like pre-1.16 Hotbar hover text

By default, #10 Legacy will be selected. You can change which style you want by going to the Main Menu > Settings > Global Resources > Active > Click on Custom Hotbar Hover Text > Click on the Settings Cog next to Deactivate > Use the slider to change your selection

Once you make your selection, close out of settings so the resource pack is applied, then restart your game so the UI changes can take effect.

Hey can you please also fix the text colliding with hotbar especially the one with enchantments on it... mayber just push it up a bit when the item has to show enchantments so it doesn't collide with the hotbar.. thanks

This pack is a must have right now till Mojang decides to fix this issue. Thank you.

But the black bar isn’t an issue...

it is, especially on small screen devices, and on Classic UI profile. it could pretty much cover the hotbar when selecting through your equipments

It's not a mistake, but it is an issue, I made a pack to remove that 3 days after the update dropped.

This is a pretty dope minecraft texture pack, it's pretty useful for the fact that I can finally remove that black bar in the middle of the screen, 5 stars is what you get, congratulations, gg :)

This is a really good idea. And it's a good pack too. However, I hope you know that they will be adding in an option to adjust the transparency very soon. This is still a good alternative until they do that though.

I didn't know that! I would've expected it to be in the release tbh.

The slider is there to adjust opacity but it does not currently work.

Great pack! I can finally see much better through the background. Also could you also make something similar to this but with tooltips? The tooltips in the inventory menu gets in the way very easily and that is it not transparent, especially when having many enchants on an item. Is there a way you can make it happen?
