This is cool but what's the point when you can use an anvil and iron/diamond depending on what type of too to repair it and keep the enchantments

Nothing. Addons for MCPE have really taken off, you can now add ypur own items without replacing anything. You can also add your own recipes, blocks, mobs, particles, commands, and some other technical stuff.
