Added

Any built-in light items can now have their color, light level, offhand usage, floor glow, and lighting toggled on or off individually, all from within the /menu; search by partial name or browse the full list, with a dedicated section for items you've already modified.

Changed

Custom items now support full editing like changing color, light level, or remove them entirely through the /menu command.
Lights now ease in and out smoothly over multiple ticks instead of snapping on and off instantly, applying to all light source types including held items, dropped items, and nearby entities.

I just tested this addon and I'm so happy I found it; it goes beyond just adding dynamic lighting—it also preserves the block's original color when held in hand or dropped on the ground. That's so cool—congratulations on the great work with this addon.

hey dusty!! love the addon its a really good one also juat a tiny question if you will... can it be possible that you add a menu to add menu to add the light to addons. for exemple an item opens a menu.

and the item is pink glowing flower (id:og:pinkglowflower)
so... you open the menu since you want to make it glow and fill.

things like that you get the idea but now that i think abt i t it may be hard but if you make it work it would be really amazing!!! (also happy for the upcoming patch) thx for taking the time to read

fair enough, I will add this in the next patch, sorry for the late response, I had some personal things going on. I will convert the custom commands to 1 custom command that opens a GUI, where you can track the custom entities, and items.

this addon is amazing, the only thing i would ask for is for entities that are lit on fire (including flame arrows) to emit a light source, do you think you could implement this plz? ive seen it in other (non colored) dynamic light addons so im sure its possible. otherwise its 5 stars and ive rated it as such

it doesn't have to be colored or anything fancy but can you atleast make it possible that a dropped torch emits light, i want to use it as a flare, but i don't want to add an entirely other add on just for this one thing, it's all i could ask 🙏

For the colored aspect, unfortunately, yes, because the simple and fancy graphic settings do not support colored lighting. Since that requires ray tracing, the light on simple and fancy graphics will only appear as white.

I'm not sure what you mean.. Do you mean blocks like redstone dust when placed down will emit light (red)?

Love this add-on but when holding a light source near a fence the fence connects to the light blocks.

I just now noticed this but it also stops you from placing down water, red stone or use beds (prints bed is obstructed in chat) when holding a torch. I also noticed that un-equipping relies on your hotbar being empty, and if your hotbar is full and you try to un-equip the torch it doesn’t do anything.

I noticed that when i hold items, the light blocks from them make the surrounding blocks invisible. Not sure if there’s something in my world settings i need to change or if it’s an issue with something else. Either way i will be using this mod as it’s really neat

If you enable the “New Voxels” experimental setting then it makes the blocks around you invisible when holding a light source
