This update expands Enchanted Mobs beyond hostile creatures, introducing enchanted passive mobs alongside new defensive enchantments and additional customization options.
New Mobs
Passive mobs can now spawn enchanted too!
- Sheep
- Cow
- Pig
- Chicken
These mobs make use of defensive enchantments to keep encounters interesting without drastically changing their role.
Besides... a Sharpness V chicken pecking someone to death would be a little too terrifying.
New Enchantments
Unbreaking
Added as a new defensive enchantment, increasing combat variety while laying the groundwork for future mechanics.
Thorns
Attacking certain mobs now comes with a little extra risk, making some encounters more dynamic.
Quality of Life
Optional Enchanted Book Drops
Added a setting to choose whether enchanted mobs always drop enchanted books or never drop them. This helps reduce inventory clutter while giving players full control over how rewarding enchanted mobs should be.
Enchantment Glint Options
Added new glint customization options:
- Default
- Middle Ground
- Subtle
Also added an optional purple glint inspired by Minecraft Java Edition aiming at parity.
Technical Changes
Passive Mob Despawn
The custom despawn script has been updated so enchanted passive mobs are no longer automatically removed.
This ensures player farms and animal pens remain intact while also supporting future non-hostile enchanted mobs.
Fixes
Rider/Jockey Spawning
Fixed an issue where rider/jockey combinations could occasionally be replaced incorrectly during spawning.

They drop more of their base loot items alongside an enchanted book with the proper enchantment and more XP.
