Guns and nukes will be very late game and require material from the end to make so I don't think a version without them would be needed, also the nuke might open a portal to another dimension, if that is possible lol. this is going to take so long to finish lol

I also don't want to make them so op that other weapons are useless, so they need to have the damage of a max enchant bow about.

Ok, I think I'll start working on that tomorrow, today I have been working on this a ton lol, I think I love doing custom UIs now lol, tomorrow's update will have an RPG like leveling system and an enchanting system that isn't rng based.

also maybe add higher pickaxe requirements for mining diamonds and stuff. (with the custom ores)

That could be good, maybe have to travel to a cold biome to get something to mine diamond, or have to cut diamond with a new ore before being able to use it

Yes, I could do that and have the staffs require a forge shard and something else like echo shard, eye of ender, ect and do different things. I might do an end update but if I do it will be a different mod so that this can be compatible with other end update mods.

maybe add a progression system for normal progression in Minecraft. for example to go to the end you need a nether star prismarine shard and echo shard blaze powder and ender pearl .

maybe you could make the warden drop a special echo shard so that he is a necessary encounter to beat the game. also locks netherite so the fight is more challenging. maybe that could be the same for elder gaurdian.

the elder gaurdian could also receive some buffs like 300 hp or maybe 400 hp. also the wither could be buffed. the wither could dash in its first stage and also every attack could be a blue wither skull and leave lingering wither effect on the ground

This was actually something I was kind of already planning, Im also planning to add several new ores that are only in certain biome's caves and each are used for a different part of progression. I am also working on a palm desert village.

Im also just going to keep the base game trees along with the custom trees in the forest biome in the next update because it doesn't affect how it looks much, so the next update should be able to have custom structures in the forests, although I haven't tested if it works yet

if you need any late game ideas I have some. you could make netherite only obtainable after the ender dragon is defeated. making the netherite ingot crafting recipe require dragons breath or something like that

my only recommendation is to instead of making a whole new forest biome just revamp the original. this way structures from other addons can still spawn in the biome. that’s my only recommendation

honestly, I've learned a lot about worldgen in the week or 2 since I started this so I could probably remove the trees without removing the original biome now. I can try it out tomorrow and see if it works.
