V3.1.0 - Upgrade Kit System (February 2026)

This update introduces the Upgrade Kit System, replacing the per-tier crafting recipes with a progression-based upgrade mechanic that preserves your backpack's contents across every tier transition.

🔧 Added — Upgrade Kit System

  • Upgrade Kits: Five new items — Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite Upgrade Kits — allow upgrading a backpack to the next tier without losing its contents.
  • Usage: Place the backpack in your offhand, hold the Upgrade Kit in your main hand, and interact (Right-click / Long-press).
  • Tier-locked: Each kit only works on its matching tier. You cannot skip tiers.
  • Recipes: Kits are crafted at the Crafting Table. The Copper Kit requires 4× Copper Ingots; other kit recipes follow the same material pattern.
✨ Added — General

  • Item Lore: Backpacks now show their unique ID, owner name, and current tier directly in the item tooltip.
  • New Languages: Added Italian (it_IT), Korean (ko_KR), Polish (pl_PL), and Turkish (tr_TR). The addon now supports 13 languages total.
⚡ Improved

  • Simplified Crafting: Removed individual crafting recipes for tiers 2–6. The Leather Backpack remains the only directly craftable tier.

Your absurd use of AI for everything inspires me to not download the Add-On.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE – DESCRIPTION MISMATCH ⚠️

Hey everyone!

I accidentally overwrote the description by mixing it up with another project I'm working on (an improved version of this addon).

**The description you see above does NOT match this addon.**
It's just placeholder text from the other project – please ignore it completely!

**The addon itself is unchanged:**
- Features and files are exactly the same as the previous version.
- No updates, additions, or removals happened from this error.

I'll fix the proper description soon. Sorry for the mix-up! 🙏

If you have questions, issues, or feedback, please leave a comment here on the project page – that's the best way to reach me right now. Thanks for your patience and for using the addon! ❤️

Hi, is this project still active? It's also for something else, but I'd better not say because I'm sure that only happens to me.. or maybe not.
1
Yes, the project is still active! I just released version 3.1.0.
Don’t worry, you’re probably not the only one! Feel free to tell me what’s happening to you. I’ll do my best to help or fix it soon 👍
1
Oh, that's great to hear. So, I'm not the only one having this problem? Well, let me explain. In the latest version of Minecraft, 26.1 (now 26.2), the add-on has the same issue where items in your backpack disappear when entering and exiting dimensions. But this happened to me in "The End".
1
Hey! Thanks for the report — really appreciate it!

Yes, this is a known issue with the dimension transition system. The bug can cause items to temporarily split or disappear when crossing into the Nether or The End, and it affects versions 26.1 and 26.2 as well.

For now, the best workaround is:
1. Close your backpack (switch to another item) before entering any portal.
2. Wait a few seconds after arriving before opening it again — this gives the save system time to sync.

I'm investigating this and will address it in a future update. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks again for taking the time to report it! 🙏

hey, can i use your backpack for my ores addon.? i really liked yours and i think it would fit mine
1
Hey! Thanks for asking. Yes, you can use it as long as you give clear credits to me (MemorieStudio) and put a link to my original download page. Good luck with your ores addon!
1
ohh, thank you from Memorie Studios, i dont think im going to post The Mod, but if i do im putting your download in the Description!
1
That sounds perfect! I appreciate you linking the original download if you decide to release it. Good luck with the development!

Why does my items disappear when I enter another dimension, then I save some other items there and I return to the first place, the items appear but the second ones don't, and viceversa
1
Thanks for the report! You were right—the backpack was creating separate, conflicting structures in different dimensions.

I've fixed this in v3.0.2 by centralizing all saves to the Overworld and adding tickingareas to keep the data synced globally. Update the pack and your items will be safe everywhere!
1
Great job, bro! You should add custom animations when holding them to better match 'Actions & Stuff.' Even so, it’s an excellent addon

Great to use! Every backpack mod I've used before has the same common flaw—all items in the backpack get wiped clean after re-entering the save file. Yours is the only one that doesn’t.

But the looks and features are too limited. I hope more content will be available in the future. I really look forward to your updates!

The only issue with this is that having potentially thousands of mcstructure files in a world will increase the world size and cause TPS issues. Along with potential duplication glitches.
1
Thanks for the feedback. You were absolutely right regarding the structure files and TPS.

I just released V2.0.0 which completely rewrites the core engine to fix this.

1. TPS: It no longer saves to disk when unequipping. Instead, it teleports the entity to a ticking area (Safe Zone), making usage instant and lag-free.

2. World Size: It now only saves to a physical structure file when the player disconnects.

3. Safety: Keeping the entity alive in memory prevents the duplication glitches associated with constant despawning/respawning.

Hope you give it a try!
4
You'll also need a system to prevent players from killing the backpack entity. And there is a potential lag issue when hundreds of backpack entities are created, and thus hundreds of inventory entities existing within a ticking area.
4
also, could you make a version of this with a more limited inventory size? similar to the hopper inventory? I just think chest sized inventories on a backpack item may be a bit too OP.
