will it work with packs like barebones or bare bones and stuff? what about animation mods like fresh animations?

It will definitely work because this shader doesn't have any textures or animations (except for the Unbound subpack which slightly changes the water texture, but you can still apply other texture packs).

When I joined my world I had the shaders activated and it just looked like vanilla Minecraft I don't know if it was me or the pack but if anyone knows what happened please tell me

Go to the settings then go to video settings and set gracias mode to vibrant visual (The water wave effect will be applied if you enable it in the main menu.)
