This is a reupload of BetterMusic and BetterJukebox.

Don’t expect many changes; I’ll focus mainly on fixing issues, adapting to game updates, or similar. I don’t plan to record gameplay or update the pack’s icons or thumbnail images, as I’m not very skilled in that.

Status: 26.23 (Stable)

The new Minecraft updates brought new discs, could you update this package? Adding the new discs.
1
Yeah, you are right. It's currently in the latest beta, which I have not added support for yet.

It'll be part of 2.1.4 within the next few days.

Thank you so much for this, I haven't been able to talk to you on Discord anymore, I thought you had abandoned this package, I'm glad that didn't happen, I love it for adding my music. I have a question, when I play multiplayer and use the function to add multiple songs on just one disc, would it be possible to make it play exactly the same song for me and the other person? When I put the disc on to play, the other person hears one song and I hear another.

I apologize, my old Discord account got removed, but my new one has been available under the same @ for quite a while now.

Regarding your question, that's unfortunately out of my control. When multiple tracks exist for a single sound event (e.g., `record.13`), the game selects one at random, and this random selection is per player. All I can control is the weight assigned to each track (higher weight = higher chance of being played). Currently, `custom1` and `custom2` have a weight of 2 for each record, while all remaining tracks are set to a weight of 1. This means the first two tracks each have a play chance of `16.67 %`, while the others each have a play chance of `8.33 %`.

Question, if i add custom music in the form of record discs, say one of the tracks i have added is longer than the original track it is replacing, will Minecraft decide to cut it off at the time the original track ends instead of the time the new track should end? This is a repetitive issue with many packs that I'm not sure how to fix.
1
Yeah, this has been a known issue for years. Since you’re experiencing it in recent versions, it’s safe to assume it hasn’t been fixed yet.

For clarification, this is a game-related issue; neither pack creators nor end users can do anything about it.
1
its great but is there a way for it to work multiplayer (to listen ofcourse on jukeboxes)
1
It does work in multiplayer. There’s no such thing as "doesn’t work in multiplayer" versus "works in multiplayer." If you enable a pack globally, it will only affect your client, since others don’t have the pack. If you want others to use it as well, they’ll either need to install and activate it on their end, or you’ll need to apply it at the world level, so they can download and use it while connected to your world.

If you’re encountering specific issues in multiplayer, it’s possible that another pack is overriding the behavior of mine.

not working
1
Simply commenting "not working" without explaining what exactly isn’t working doesn’t help either of us.
Please describe your issue in detail. What exactly isn’t working as expected?

Also make sure that:
1. You’ve selected a subpack that matches your intended setup.
(Note: Subpacks using custom music require correct setup to work properly.)
2. No other resource pack is overriding BetterMusic or BetterJukebox.
(Reminder: higher position in the resource pack list = higher priority. Packs above mine can override their behavior.)

Are you able to make a dimension-based config? I'd like to hear all the Minecraft tracks to play anywhere I go, as long as I don't hear nether music in the overworld and end music in the nether.
1
Your request leaves a lot of room for interpretation, but I suppose what you mean is something like this:
All Overworld tracks play regardless of biome, but only within the Overworld. Similarly, Nether and End music only play in their respective dimensions—again, regardless of biome.
One more thing: what about Creative mode music? Technically, that's considered Overworld music as well.
1
Yes, all that. Could it also include the songs that are no longer played in the game, as I'm sure some songs were created before but are no longer featured?
1
Alright, I'll definitely consider that—shouldn't be a problem. Just one thing though: what exactly do you mean by “no longer featured”? Are you referring to the classic C418 tracks? Technically, those are still part of the game. It's just that Mojang’s newer music additions tend to overshadow them, or rather, take priority in the current playback system.
1
From my experience in Minecraft, I've not heard some songs that were made for the game. So it was just me because biome-specific and other things need to be ticked before it plays a certain song. Anyways, could you add an extra songs toggle, maybe like "dimensional-specific + extra songs" which adds the unused C418 songs like Chris, and I guess any unused songs if there are anything.

Been looking for something like this forever thank you so much amazing mod
1
I'm glad you like it—enjoy playing!
1
Your package is something I've been looking for for days, I'm really glad I found it, but I'm having trouble making it work because I'm a bit of a layman, I sent you a request on Discord so you can help me.
1
like can you make a video outof it because i dont really get it
1
can you tell me how to make this work i still have no clue
1
I won't be creating a video tutorial for the setup, as it varies depending on the operating system (I do not know your operating system). If you're not interested in custom music, there's nothing to configure—just enable the packs and select your preferred subpack. However, if you're interested in custom music, the Custom Music section in the pack description provides straightforward instructions on directory structure, file placement, file naming, and conversion.
