I'd suggest change the beacon color for different pet, like horse (red beacon) dog(white beacon) etc.

but cows aren’t pets tho, this is supposed to only show beacons for tamed animals

Not only do some pets not teleport, but for most people there’s usually a time when their pet gets lost cause they left it sitting somewhere. In general I’d say just apply the pack and leave it there. It will definitely come in handy for a lot of people.
