Village Generator

Village Generator is an add-on that comes with various functions to help you build villages quickly and easily. Getting a quick village to play around with has never been easier!

How to Use

Head into the chat and type /function help to get a list of several available commands. Type /function help2 to show the next help page. Type the structure’s name when you’re ready to generate it.

If you get stuck in the structure after generating, use the teleport command to free yourself without damaging the structure!

      If you’ve previously installed the add-on, just download the updated version and install it, and then activate it in the settings of the world you want to use it in.

      If you happen to get errors like “duplicate pack detected”, delete any previous installed versions of the add-on and try again.

    Very Handy Mod, would help if I could choose the direction that the structure is built though. Makes it difficult to add structures to an already existing village when they all face only in one direction. Maybe adding North, South, East and West variants would help.

      After downloading the add-on, open the .mcpack file with Minecraft, wait till it imports, then go to the settings of the world you want to use the add-on in, scroll down to Behavior Packs, activate “Village Generator” and then join the world.

    1. When generating villages, I noticed that it only spawns 1 preset. What I mean is for example, Village 1 has a Blacksmith House and then Village 2 is different. I want to generate it random.
    2. And also, can you make the Torches inside the Plains Armorer House attached to the back of Oak Stairs? In this mod, it is not even attached. The Torches that I’m talking about is the Torches at the top left and right where the Blast Furnace is.

      I tested this pack in and it works as intended.
      Make sure you’re not playing on any development (beta) version of 1.13!

          You can generate old type villages, too! If you’re using version 1.4.0 or later of the pack, just use /function legacy in chat to list the commands for the structures.

          They generate only on one side because that’s just how commands work. A different position would require rewriting of the whole structure, just on a different side.
          You can, however, if you just want a village on a flat world to use, which comes with the ability to rotate the structures.

  38. I have a question. How did you turn the village structures into commands? If you did it block by block then that would take forever. Or…. you did it with MCEDIT? In that case this would be breeze to make.

    This mod is incredibly useful and simple. I might use it on a realm soon. One thing I noticed is that most structures generate with the door facing to the east. Its not a deal breaker, but I was wondering if you had plans to allow us to spawn it in any direction?

      That’s because the functions are written in that position. A different position would require rewriting or modifying them, which is kind of a hard work as there are many structures.

      However, if you are playing on 1.13 or later, just execute the function of the structure, save the structure with a structure block, then load the saved structure in the desired position.

      1. Download and install the pack.
      2. Create a new world or edit an existing one and tap on Behavior Packs. Apply the pack and open the world.
      3. Go into the chat and type “/function help” and send.
      4. Execute the function of the desired structure.
      5. Done!

      – Make sure you’re running 1.9 and later in order for the pack to work.
      – Before executing a structure function, make sure your character is in the place you want the structure to be spawned.

    Hey, i was wondering, is there a way to make the houses switch between each biome theme, or not, if you aren’t making this a feature at the time, please add this. (E. Make it so when you put, for example, /function largehouse, make it so every structure has a theme label at the end of it’s name, like; largehouse/(taiga, snowy, desert, etc). Please do this if possible, thanks!

      Structures generate on positive x and z coordinates, which means they can’t be generated in different positions, as that’s how /fill and /setblock commands work. Some structures already have rotated/mirrored variants.

      However, you can use structure blocks (v1.13.X+) to rotate them.

      but they’ll need to build the houses too like a small variety of house and large one and medium ones. So of course it’ll be a pain for them too they can’t just randomly generate a house they need to built it themself and save it as a mc structure file

      This is an addon (function pack).

      Unfortunately, as Strongholds are randomly huge underground generated structures it’s nearly impossible to make. Just the end portal room would be possible though.

      In the third place, this addon is focused on village. Structures such as Shipwreck, Jungle Temple, Desert Temple, Underwater Ruins, Nether Fortress, Stronghold have nothing to do with villages, possible to make a new function pack for these though!

    I really like the idea for this mod but the one problem I have with it is that all the buildings only face one side it would be really nice to have the buildings face more than one set direction other than that this is great

      Function Packs are just files that contain commands such as /fill and /setblock, and when you type, for example /function test, all /fill and /setblock commands execute in order from this file.

      It is possible to add different facing directions (some structures already have them), but that would require re-writing the whole commands just in a different direction.

      If you are trying to spawn a hut, you can just change the door position on the side you want.

      If you are referring to all structures available in this function pack, you can execute /function help. To see other help pages you’ll have to execute /function help2, /function help3, etc.

    Note to everyone who doesn’t understand:
    The download link isn’t wrong. It is the right one. The pack version is 1.0.0 because when it was released it was 0.0.1, but mcpedl has a different system to classify versions.
