A-E-8-6 : a simple yet iconic combination of just 2 letters and 2 numbers. At this point, there's no need to introduce this one-of-a-kind, overrated, shitbox anymore; we all know what this is. A what was supposed to be just a simple and sportier version of an economy car, became something that is just absurdly well-known and has actually introduced many people into the car scene. The lightweight and nimble little Corolla that became a drifting icon, under the control of the one and only, Keiichi Tsuchiya, The Drift King. 4AGE, another thing that became an icon. The 86's engine. A 1.6l engine that not only produced reasonable power and had a high tuning potential, it was reliable, capable of high RPMs, sounded orgasmic and most importantly, actually affordable. Motorsports? It beated cars like the BMW M6 and the Merc 190E and won several championships. The 1986 and 1987 seasons of the British Touring Car Championship to name a few. Oh and there's Initial D but lets stick to the facts.
• About Project
Sometime October 2020, I made the AE86. But like alot of the cars I made during that time, it had it's flaws (both model-wise and functionality-wise). Thought I remaster it considering how iconic it is as well as just the fact that I quite like the AE86, the coupe version especially. With that statement, I will also be remastering previous cars that I've made during that time.
Also for this project, I also added the coupe version cuz like I said earlier, I like the coupe version and cuz why not.
• Car History
"The AE86 series of the Toyota Corolla Levin and Toyota Sprinter Trueno are small, front-engine/rear-wheel-drive models within the front-engine/front-wheel-drive fifth generation Corolla (E80) range — marketed by Toyota from 1983 to 1987 in coupé and liftback configurations. Lending themselves to racing, the cars were light, affordable, easily modifiable and combined a five-speed manual transmission, optional limited slip differential, MacPherson strut front suspension, high revving (7800 rpm), twin-cam engine with oil cooler (e.g., in the US), near 50/50 front/rear weight balance, and importantly, a front-engine/rear-drive layout — at a time when this configuration was waning industry-wide. Widely popular for Showroom Stock, Group A, and Group N, Rally and Club racing, the cars' inherent qualities also earned the AE86 an early and enduring international prominence in the motorsport discipline of drifting. The AE86 was featured centrally in the popular, long-running Japanese manga and anime series titled Initial D (1995–2013) — as the main character's drift and tofu delivery car. In 2015, Road & Track called the AE86 "a cult icon, inextricably interwoven with the earliest days of drifting."" -Wikipedia

• How to open the doors/hood & turn on popups (Important!)
To OPEN the doors, right click the car and the doors will open. Right click again to get in.
To CLOSE the doors, right click WHILE shifting/crouching.
To turn ON the popups, right click WHILE shifting/crouching WHEN the doors are closed and the popups will turn on!
To turn OFF popups, right click WHILE shifting/crouching. .... (when the popups are on)
To OPEN/CLOSE the hood, you will need an item called "Wrench". You can search it in the Creative inventory. (Yes ik, very dumb choice of a tool to open the hood lol. Wanted to use a hood strut but the pixel art on that looked wack.)
Once you have the Wrench in your hand, right click while holding the wrench and the hood will open. Right click with the Wrench again to close the hood.
In a nutshell, the concept is basically;
Right click/hold + Shift/crouch = Turn the popups on/off and close doors
Right click ONLY = Open doors and to get in car ... (once the doors are open)
Right click with Wrench = Open/close hood
I've made a video showing how it's done so if you don't understand words, you can check that video out. You'll also be able to get a preview of how the "advanced sounds" sound like
